| The Minos sensor from Baumer Electric is the smallest self-contained adjustable photoelectric sensor on the market today. The Minos sensor packs all of the best technologies of Baumer Electric into a subminiature sensor, including the unique background suppression by triangulation technology that outperforms all other methods of background suppression on the market today. The Minos sensor combines the tried-and-true method of background suppression with a new technology to enable customers to teach the sensor by pressing a button instead of dialing a potentiometer. The minos sensor also allows customers to remotely mount sensors out of reach of operators by having a remote teach input built into the electronics of the sensor. The background suppression technology built into the Minos sensor and other photoelectric sensors allows users to set a sensor to judge targets based on proximity to the face of the sensor, opposed to the color or light intensity of reflected light. This allows for the sensor to ignore any light or reflective surfaces past the set distance from the sensor, including highly reflective surfaces or independant light sources. The background suppression technology also allows for a very high degree of color indifference, allowing a sensor to sense white objects with the same high degree of repeatability, then switch to black or even colored sensors wihtout losing position settings of the sensor. With the optional Minofix mounting system, the Minos sensor is an ideal sensor for position sensing in places where even fiber optic heads cannot reach. With available through-beam, retroreflective and diffuse models, the Minos can solve many space-critical sensing applications. |
