IAI Releases updated X-Sel controller
IAI's popular motion controller now allows six axes of motion, conveyor tracking, vision integration
July 1st, 2005: IAI released their updated X-Sel controller for the line of ICSPA cartesian robots and IX SCARA robots. The X-Sel P/Q controller uses all the standard X-Sel controller commands, including PATH commands, interpolated motion and advanced robotic features. But with the P/Q configurations, X-Sel controllers now have advanced features.

With the new P/Q X-Sel controller, users now can control six axes instead of four. The two extra axes can control secondary motions associated with a SCARA or Cartesian robot, including two robocylinders or secondary ISPA actuators. Also included is the ability to track the encoder feedback of a conveyor belt. By tracking the speed variations of a conveyor belt, the X-Sel controller can use feedback from the encoder and, along with vision system integration, can track moving parts on a conveyor for easy picking of objects on a moving conveyor.
