| July 15th, 2004: Intelligent Actuator has released two sizes of the popular RCP2 actuators in IP65 rating, allowing customers to apply repeatable positioning and accuracy to wet and dusty environments. The two sizes of Robocylinder, RSW and RMW, allow for a rod-type actuator to operate wherever there is a high amount of dust in the environment, or wherever there is moisture or water jets. The IP65 rating is the IEC rating that defines a device's ability to keep out foreign contaminants. The first character in the IP rating declares the device's ability to seal out dust and particulate contaminants, and the second character declares the device's ability to seal out moisture. Any device that is IP65 rated is completely dust tight (maximum dust tight rating) and protected from water jets from any direction.As a standard, Intelligent Actuator products are not designed to work in an environment where water or excessive dust is present, but with the addition of IP65 actuators in the Robocylinder and other product lines, water and dust are no longer a prohibitive environmental issue.For more information or to discuss IAI's new IP65 robocylinder, contact your salesperson for more information. |
